|St Maximilian Kolbe, OFM Conv.|
I found the remnant of the quote from Cardinal George that I could not find yesterday.
“I expect to die in bed, my successor will die in prison and his successor will die a martyr in the public square. His successor will pick up the shards of a ruined society and slowly help rebuild civilization, as the church has done so often in human history.”I wonder though: what if he is quite not right? What if, instead of a successor, we had Christ Jesus, sitting at the head of the Church Triumphant surrounded by the Communion of Saints, and the Church Suffering and the Church Militant were no more?
Also, Fr Z and Matthew Archbold offer good reflections.
